Walking Advertisement?

When we do well, we can help others! We are a walking advertisement for the LapBand. Had a great meeting today with the hospital Executive Assistant Director, My Doctor, the Allergan LapBand Representative, the OR Staff and the Staff of the Doctor. Learned so many things about the LapBand, and how I am going to be the chosen "Patient" to help further the progress of the LapBand and the future of its success in my area. Feeling very proud that I have done well. Found out that in America this year, the LapBand surgery surpassed the Gastric Bypass and is increasing in popularity! How wonderful to have this hidden tool to help us lose and keep the weight off that had caused us problems in the past associated with obesity. I love my BAND and I am so happy to be off diet pills that made my heart palpitate! I can sleep soundly at night, and get rested for my job the next day! My doctor is the best, really cares and great followup! It makes me want to turn back the hands of time, do it sooner, what I could have enjoyed that I have passed on. Oh well, look out world, I may be one of those sky divin grannies at 80!:confused:

A good dose of the Movies Helps!

:rolleyes2:Well the movies with a friend was wonderful, Saw INCEPTION! I am still reeling from the ending, but it is the hottest movie out right now, so I will just not tell you the ending. Getting out and feeling normal really helps! Yes I had some popcorn, sure can not hold what I use to hold back in the day. It always smells so much better and taste better than the popcorn you get at home! My friend and I shared a box. I worked on a Commercial Real Estate Deal that I have going today and I hope it goes through as it will be a NICE commission! Let me tell you a good dose of the Movies will take you out of reality and make you feel much better if you are down in the dumps.!:bye:

Waiting for the Right Timing???? Read this and rate it too!

NO AMOUNT OF WORRYING can make things happen, let alone make them happen the way you want. Still, your human nature, bent on trying, rises to the challenge. What's the remedy for this all-too-common malady? Oswald Chambers, in his classic MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST, wrote," When God brings a time of waiting, and appears to be unresponsive, don't fill it with busyness, just wait.....If you have the slightest doubt, then he is not guiding." I know it is hard on those of you waiting, waiting for the money for the band, waiting for the surgery, waiting for appointments, waiting to lose the weight, waiting for solid foods. Just waiting in period and a lot of time living with the Band Challenge for the first year is spent waiting. Until I got a grip on this fact, I was over anxious, dissapointed and very irritable. So I got into a little prayer time and read the bible a little more, and decided that it was time to let God lead me through this journey. And now I am happy all the time and enjoying this road ahead of me. I am working on the next 10 lbs. and so far all is going well. I have 9 lbs to go! I joined the page Sparkpeople.com as suggested by someone on this site. It is helpful so far. Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. Great Chicken Recipe!!!!

This is delicious! Low Carb, High Protein! Chicken Fritters! In a large bowl, mix one can of White Meat Chicken, chopped finely! (Reduce the size of the chunks to minced) Add Two Green onions minced fine. Salt and Pepper to taste. Add 1 1/2 cups of Ricotta Cheese Add 1 Cup of Low Fat Sour Cream Add 1/4 cup Flour (to hold the mixture togeter) White or Whole Wheat Add two eggs, beaten. Mix entire mixture together in bowl. Spray cast iron pan with cooking spray, low-cal type. Drop mixture into pan, in 4 oz sizes, keep flipping until brown on both sides, about 4 min. till done. Serve with a side salad and low cal dressing! Absolutely Delicious and Satisfying!

The ticker is moving Again!

:thumbup:Thank God the Ticker is moving again! Down a little more! I actually gained inches this time but lost weight~due to working out with weights, but I was happy because I came down another jean size! Exercise helps folks! I may have gained muscle and a few inches overall, but muscle will increase your metabolism and that burns fat and leave muscle! I will take it! Lost 6 more lbs, down 60 lbs now! 50 more to go! Grilled Peanut Butter(Crunchy) and Jelly Sandwich??

Yes I was smitten at the Ag Expo in Moultrie GA last year by these tasy little sandwiches! Now If you just use one slice of bread, it cuts the carbs way back! Something about the heat and the butter that I use to toast the bread, what a great supper, my husband is eating vanilla ice cream right now for his dessert, so I get on here to avoid the temptation, and talk about my sweet PB&J Grilled Sandwich. He worked hard today and he has ALWAYS weighed the same since the day we married 32 yrs ago. Sooooo let him eat Ice Cream. Trying something different and Out of the Box helps us to avoid the boredom that will come with a diet. HAVING to do something just sets me up for failure, I WANT to do this so I am succeeding! I will get my beautiful Granddaughter Bayleigh for two days tomorrow and we are going to have a tea party (with Crystal Light Tea) and PB&J sandwiches! Then we are going to don our swimsuits and go to the BEACH. I have not been to the beach in several years, actually can not remember the last time??? That is sad considering I live only 30 min. from them. I may have some flab, but I am 91 lbs lighter than the last time I went. So here I go! Hope all of you are having a wonderful night! A decision to Trust!

:smile:Learning to swim in daunting. You'll probably never forget how it felt to squint across the pool before filling your lungs with that last deep breath. Three strokes later, your hesitant paddling ended in frantic sputtering when water started closing over your head. At the same moment, strong arms caught you from beneath and lifted you back up to the surface. ( I had this happen to me at age 12 in our large round town lake) A heart of trust is one of life's sweet but hard-won gifts. The discovery that God is always there, ready to lift you up when you start to sink, replaces fear with courage and timidity with boldness. Along with that courage and boldness comes the strength to face whatever life throws at you~even when it requires a long scary swim to the other side. We can equate this long scary swim to the other side, to our decision to have the LAP-BAND®®® as well. We are uncertain, hopeful, scared and wanting. We have to get decisive, use the courage that we can drum up from within and be bold and go forward with our decision, trusting that we are doing the RIGHT thing for us! I know that I could not do a thing or make a decision without first trusting God to guide me. When I decided to do this LAP-BAND®®® thing, I was scared, unsure of how it would affect my life, how it would change me and my family, could I do it? It became a decision I had to Trust! Some days, I am still scared. I will try to eat something and I question myself, can I eat this? Will it get stuck? And I can get on edge about the band. Other days there is no question. I am starting to feel Normal with the band, not apprehensive at all, about getting together with friends attending functions such as weddings, showers, and parties without thinking everyone is watching me eat. I feel like one of the bunch again! I thank God everyday for my decision.:tt2: In you O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. Why is getting to ONEderland SO Important?

Onderland! I can almost see it! I have not been below 200 lbs in over 15 years! I weighed in at 200.8 this morning and I am SO CLOSE! I dreamed last night that I would weigh 199.8 today! Because I want it so bad? I think this is a milestone for most of us and it will certainly get me out of a slump I have been in tossing a lb or 2 around for a few weeks, so I am gonna PUSH like the dickens to get under 200! That will catapult me to get with this program and take off another 10 lbs or so! I just bought a lot of new clothes (had to!) and my husband has no where to hang his now. But I HAVE to keep the ones I am in now and I HAVE to shop for some I can wear in a month or so! LOL I like having these problems, but I never buy anything that fits, and getting lots of cute stuff, so that makes me work harder to get there and get into those new clothes! Got into a 14 jeans yesterday, but I did keep a pair of my 24-26 W to compare too! Wow I was FAT! Just five months ago! I still feel FAT, and I will be glad when my mind changes with my body. I still go to the Plus Sz section in a store and browse, then work my way over to womens, old habits die hard! LOL My daughters in their 20's want to dress me in YOUNGER lookin clothing, I MAY just let them! Have a ONDerful day and if you are not there, Good Luck in getting to ONEderland with me!

Warmer Weather, and My spirits are lifting too!

:frown:Great!! The warmer weather is here, 68 degrees today! And the sun felt so good! I saw a lot of folks I have not seen in a long time today, and I just got compliments all day. It was truly wonderful. I have never been the center of attention like I was today, and honestly it was sorta embarrassing but in a good way, I could feel myself blushing! It has been 15 years since I was this small. I have a great restriction now so I just can't eat the food I use to consume, down another lb this morning, Yea! I have to drink a lot of fluids now, and stay hydrated, so the lbs will drop, especially with warmer weather coming we all will, it helps your body flush the fat you burn during the day too. Enjoy Your Life

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartly (from the soul), as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing with all certainty that it is from the Lord and not from man that you will receive the inheritance which is your real reward. Colossians 3:23-24 Reading the scripture is the only way to stay on track with life and truly enjoy life, when we stray from it, we so alienate ourselves and start to feel helpless, that is because we are. Pray for the strength to stay on track and enjoy your life. Jesus died so that you can enjoy abundant life, not just the days you are off work or on vacation, or when you get to go shopping or golfing~~~but every day of your life. He wants you to enjoy going to the grocery store. He wants you to enjoy driving the kids to school. He wants you to enjoy paying the bills, cleaning the house or mowing the yard. A fresh baked Brownie had my name written all over it!

:smile2:Ok I had been such a good girl all week! Didn't I deserve that fresh baked brownie? I walked in to a friends house to visit, and she offered the brownie! No, I said! I'll just take water~I am thirsty. Thinking that if I sipped on the water I would get full and not desire that delicious smelling brownie coming from her kitchen. Then she tells me that she put fresh walnuts in them, OMG my mouth is watering! But all week I had gone on High protein and I was to kill my desire for Sweets by doing that!!!! Darn Friends that don't want you to succeed. They want us to be FAT! They are jealous, but they don't control us ~or do they? Ok the night moves on, and here it come, "Why don't you take a couple of these Brownies home to your husband? I am sure he would love some sweets, you probably don't bake much anymore!" The nerve of some people, truth is, I took the brownies and ate one on the way home!!!!! It was Sooooo good, and later, I was soooooo mad with myself, but now I know what to do, say NO NO NO Thanks! This is a real day to day learning process and a curve ball is coming you way and from almost every angle, so get ready and fight back! That is what I am going to do if ever in that situation again, but I got up the next day, A new Day, shook myself off and ate small portions of everything, hope that by tomorrow I will still have maintained my 4 lb loss this week, only 22 to go to 100 lbs, by July 29th, 2010 My Bandiversary!:wink2:

Heading North to ALASKA! Cruise Time has arrived!

:cool:I selected the "Cool" Symbol, cause it is NOT going to be in the 80's in ALASKA! My first time cruising there, and I AM SO EXCITED! I am not so FAT anymore, so I AM White Water Rafting out to the Glaciers!!!! YEAH! What fun this trip is going to be because of the BAND! Down 82 lbs and looking for the last 18 lbs to go (or more) in the next four months! My first year with the BAND. Sometimes it is difficult and get into that woe is me syndrom, where I am sad that I can't eat something or MORE of something that I really love! But I look back and that is what got me to where I was when I had the BAND procedure! I thank God I am restricted, Behavior Modification takes a lot of time! That is what I have~time, and I WILL change for the better with it and you will tooooo! So HAPPY FOR ALL OF US BANDSTERS! Have a great day all!:smile:

Shocking Right? Still Lovin the BAND

Well I am fast approching 11 months with the band, lost 3 1/2 lbs this week! Yeah! Hope I can keep it off. I am just now getting to eat on a regular and planned basis again. We have put 185 out on the Beaches in South Walton County, getting another 200 ready to go to classes. I learned today that we will need 35,000 people to do this cleanup, at best we have 6,000 ready to go!!!!Shocking Right? It is going to be a long road back to recovery but I believe we will make it! We must, we have to. Our beaches are (were) so beautiful. I hear that they are removing the carcasses of dead sting ray, porpoise and shark and fish off the beaches at night so no one sees that, they are being brought in with the evening tide.:thumbup: I am so glad I took a relaxing trip to Alaska before returning home to this devastation! But now we have to roll up our sleeves and work! IN one month, it will be a year with the band, and you know it just seems like yesterday to me sometimes now! I am so happy to feel better and I am more confident that I look better and my clothes fit better. But with all this work, I am missing the Gym!!!!:cool2:

I sat on the Couch with TWO other people!!!

:thumbup:Well now. Last year only one other person could sit on the full size couch with me on it too, Comfortably that is! Tonight all my husbands relatives stopped by to see us and I actually scooted over so two people could sit on the couch with me!! 94 lbs does make a difference in the size of the couch. Going to get up early, only 15 days till my daughters wedding! Made about 400 buttermints and dotted them with tiny icing rosebuds and leaves for the wedding. I only ate a couple! They had to be tasted!!!! My granddaughter who is three had way too many! LOL Tomorrow morning I have to finish the hand sewing of the pearls on her dress. She is going to be a beautiful flower girl too. Tomorrow night, going to Destin, Florida with a best friend for a Vince Gill Concert!!! Yayyy! Not my Birthday or hers, just a break for these hard working girls. I have not been to a concert in years. It is at the Beach!! It was nice to fit in with my in-laws who were always so nice to me before to my face, but felt sorry for me being so FAT before, they never told me but I knew it! I hope my husband was proud! He FINALLY told me I look so good to him! This whole year I was fishing for that compliment from him, he matters the most to me, the love and support of my life. He said it two or three times. My head was swelled and my heart too! God Bless you all! Good Night!:smile:

I have survived!

:smile:Well I am back, the couple has Wed and I survived it all. It was a fairy tale come true wedding, complete with their own written vows which made us all cry! They are off on a trip to Belgium, and Germany for two weeks Honeymoon. All that food and I ate so little, I was so proud of myself and the control I have now. So many compliments on how good I looked, I so loved it and just let it soak in! Can't wait to share the photos with all of you in a week or so! I had one person come up to me and tell me that the band is what his wife is looking into and that seeing me made her mind up. 16 months almost post band and lovin it! Bless you all!:cursing:

A better day~A better Way!

:w00t: Well today was a better day! Thank God I have the LapBand! I got up in a determined mood to get back on track and I did! Sundays are always really hard for me because after Church I have to take my mother out to Lunch. She is a resident in a really nice Assisted Living Facility but I like to be with her on Sundays and take her out for something special. It was good today, I had control of my life today! I made good food choice decisions and feel like I am on track again, NO MORE BIG BROWNIES, like last Friday! I feel a good restriction now and believe I am at the Sweet Spot! I am glad that my skin is not wrinkled bad, and the elasticity is good! I must resume my Gym Classes next week too, gotten off there due to the added work load of taking care of elderly parents and getting them cared for! It will all even out again soon, I just know it. Every Day is different, every day a bit better with the LapBand~the Better Way!:biggrin:

Listening to your INNER Voices

Tonight is the health and wellness class that I teach, and the Subject is"Listening to your Inner Voices" Good and evil, the voices do speak to us every day, when we listen, we hear both, it is what we do, the decision we make that gets us where we are going. Listen to your Inner Voices, learn to "Talk Back" to them, put them in their place! The voices always come to me before making good food choices. I always want the high calorie choices, it is only natural since those foods taste sinfully delicious. But what a poor result, a weight gain, not a weight loss. What do we want? LOSS So listen to your inner voices and have victory over them.:w00t:

Christmas Blues or Good News?

I have met all the goals I have set for myself since getting the Lap Band. I have an upcoming goal for Christmas that I will be in onderland. Now I have six lbs to lose in 9 days! And~~~I have all these Christmas Parties to attend, temptations, and shopping trips ahead. Can I do It? I don't know, but I am going to push ahead and try really hard! I don't want to get the blues about it, and have my Christmas ruined because I don't make the goal, and I am sure I will be close to it anyway! The Good News is I have lost 55 lbs forever in five months so I will have to bask in that glory for a glorious Christmas if I don't make it to my goal, maybe by New Years!!!!! I still want a sexy red dress for Christmas! My husband will get a Garmin and ME!!!! LOL Merry Christmas ALL!:confused:

Well the UNFILL has happened to ME!!!Never thought it would!

:eek:Yes ME! But OH HOW MUCH BETTER I FEEL NOW!!! I was afraid to get the Unfill although I secretly KNEW I NEEDED ONE! I was a little ashamed to even mention that I was having difficulty to my Dr. I did not want him to think I could not keep going and or that he had put too much in, or that I would eat MORE with some of it out! But I had been miserable for two months and while on my cruise, I always ate near the Ladies Rooms so I could go and upchuck half of what I ate, I was feeling so bad because I was losing all the nutrients and minerals and vitamins I needed from my foods!!!! Oh yes and I had Gained some weight not but a couple of lbs, but I had so much swelling around the band from throwing up and my body was not functioning properly so I could not LOSE any weight! Well 48 hours of liquids passed and it was TIME to EAT AGAIN! I was so afraid to eat, when I did, it went down great, I felt full soon after and that was it, NO UPCHUCKING! YEAH! Wow, I am just right now back at my SWEET SPOT! I know I am going to start losing the weight again and meet my goal~so I have a renewed spirit with the band on my side again! Energy Boost, Weight LOST!

:confused:I'M SO HAPPY TODAY! GETTING TO MY GOALS FAST AND EASY. THE HIGH PROTEIN, MIN 60 G PER DAY AND LOW CARB DIET WORKS THE BEST WITH THE LAP BAND! EVEN A SMALL STATE OF KETOSIS WILL BURN UP THE FAT IN YOUR BODY! IT IS ONLY ONE WEEK TILL MY CLASS REUNION AND I AM REACHING MY GOAL! STAY THE COURSE AND RELY ON YOURSELF TO CONTROL WHAT YOU EAT! The Flu is going around~Lapband Patients Beware!

:eek:It freaks me out with the winter approaching. Catching a flu bug can be very dangerous. I have been down with the flu for the past three days, and although I felt so bad, I never threw up. I was so afraid that I would start throwing up and not be able to stop. I did get sick to my stomach, and dizzy but fought the throwing up with all my might. Thankfully I had gotten a re-script on the nausea meds given to me by my Dr. before my cruise. I took one of them, let it dissolve on my tounge and it really helped. Repeated vomitting can cause band slippage. So I recommend to all band patients to keep some anti-nausea meds close at hand! I lost over 4 1/2 lbs from this sickness, certainly NOT the way to take the weight off though! I could barely drag from the couch to the bed and DREADED having to get up to go to the bathroom. I think my resistance was down because of the work I did for the wedding of my daughter a week ago. I got TOO tired. We do have to keep a schedule, I have learned that and when we get off schedule, we PAY for it! Well I am on the mend to full recovery today. Back on track again and Praying that all goes well the rest of the week, today is my oldest grandsons birthday and I am scheduled to go to Disney this weekend with him, so maybe I will have the strength and they won't have to push me in a stroller! LOL Here's to a great day to all of you.:thumbup:

I am going to be a beautiful Mother of the Bride!

:rolleyes2:Yes my youngest daughter is getting married in October! She has always wanted the different things from all the other girls so 10-10-10 is her choice for a wedding date, won't be around for another 1,000 years! Great Choice! It will also be cooler in Florida for a wedding outside! We went shopping for "Styles" in Wedding gowns and Mother of the Bride Gowns Saturday and a Tasting from the Caterer's. The food was delicious and by the time we got through with the Cocktail selections I was full! LOL The tiny crab cakes (4 of them) were the best! And the crostini's were good too (2) Shrimp Cocktail (2) and I was stuffed! I found a beautiful gown, loved the style on me! A size 14 is what I tried on but I "HAVE" to order a size 12!!!!!!How wonderful is that? When I started this LapBand Journey, I weighed almost 270 lbs and wore 22-24-26's depending on how they were made. I Thank God for leading me in the direction of the Band! And Monday Morning is coming soon! The start of a new week!

Oh Well Monday Monday come on down. Sunday was a good and relaxing day for me today. I weighed yesterday morning and I was down a total of 6 lbs for the week, then back up a lb this morning. So I'll be happy with a 5 lb loss at this stage in the game. Eight months have passed and I am down 82 lbs so far so good. Next week I will get focused and back on the exercise equipment at the gym. Going to Alaska on a cruise in two weeks, I can hardly wait! This is the one I have wanted for several years. It is 38 degrees at night! Burrrr! 50's in the daytime and rain some days forcast! No worries I have my FrogTogs and UnderArmour and I am READY TO GO! Losing this weight could not have come at a better time for me! I am ready to take on the World and see a good deal of it! I tried on some 10s and 12s and can fit them pretty good, that is the size I feel I will end up with. I can be happy there, since I was in 24W's and some 26 W's. I get a fill and measured on the 6th of May! I have a LOT of restriction, so I am debating the fill. We'll see. Ready for some happy times in my life and NO more Deaths and saddness. Taste of Home! I am going to be featured in my Dr.s Booth!

:thumbup: I am getting a little freaked out tonight! It is raining cats and dogs here tonight and I have to be at my Dr.s Booth at Taste of Home, Healthy eating and living. I am the featured patient from the LapBand Surgery!!! My first appearance and I am not even at AFTER!!! Now what to wear, how will I do my hair, hope I don't get wet and the mascara runs, OMG I am so darn nervous! I should do fine, cause I will just be myself, that is all I can be. But less of myself. Oh I can and DO tell everyone about my surgery, but not with my Dr. standing there with me, Oh well, guess he will get to know me a little better. The Hospital where I had my surgery is sponsoring the booth! Pray for me please, tomorrow Tuesday at 4:30 PM!!:rolleyes2:
