First post post-op

Today is Saturday and I was banded on Thursday. Thursday sucked, and each day is getting better. I'd like to say that has a large part to do with my recovery team - my bf and his mom. I'm getting the best post-op care possible.   I took off my bandages last night and had a shower, the staples were nerve-racking. What will this look like afterward? My caregivers inspected closely and stated my incisions looked really good and I may come out of this with minimal scarring. Good to know.   I'm drinking out of shot glasses once evey 20 minutes or so; no one trusts me with a big glass and letting me pace myself.   Questions though, with all the incisions - where does one place the seat belt when driving or riding in a car? And what about wearing a bra (I have an incision between my breasts where my bra would be at)?   Any help is appreciated!

Getting intimate after banding

I was wondering how long people waited to have sex after being banded.   My boyfriend and I are concerned with the "movement" of sex. I understand that I won't want him putting his weight on top of me.   Anyone want to comment?   Thanks!

Got Surgery Date

Yesterday, I met with the surgeon and came up with September 3, 2009, as my surgery date. I'm really excited to finally have a date on the calendar so I can plan things.   Last week, I started drinking the generic Slimfast shakes for breakfast and that went well.   Today, the doc wants me to start the liquid diet - which means I'll be on it for three weeks and two days. It kinda sucks because it is so long; but if I can stick to this diet it will make his job easier and that could result in my recovery being easier (not that I expect it to be a walk in the park).   Still getting a good reception when people find out; but I'm still only telling positive people. I don't need to tell the negative people just yet, let them figure it out when I'm loosing all sorts of weight!   Boyfriend is still concerned (about generic surgery risks) and is being wonderfully supportive. He's beginning to talk about things that I'll be able to do better afterward. It's really nice to hear him getting.... excited isn't the right word, but I guess more used to the idea and journey of this. Yesterday, my mother threatened me if I got skinny and left him. Oh, please! He's the greatest already, and I have no desire to look elsewhere.
