How much have you lost?

Okay, I had my first fill today. I only got 4cc’s and I had not lost any weight in the last two weeks. The nurse, who is a banded patient herself, told me not to get discouraged. This happens to a lot of people, it’s only the fill. Though it made me feel a bit better, I’m still a little worried. I should have lost more. Then there are those close friends and family members who always ask, “How much have you lost already?” OMG, this has become the most hated question in the past three weeks. Dang, this should be a joyous time, but it makes me feel bad because I have not lost much. It makes me want to just lie and tell them that I’ve lost 15 or 20 pounds. Now since I’ve gotten the fill and 4cc’s is not enough to really provide much restriction, I’m a little on edge because I’m thinking that I’m going to have pay close attention to how much I eat. I can’t wait until September when I get my next fill.

Going backwards

I had my surgery July 21, 2009. As of Monday August 3,2009 I'd lost 12 pounds. Well, Monday evening my husband fried some fish and fries, both of which were fried soft enough for me to eat. I had some Monday evening and again Tuesday morning. By as of today, I've gained 4 pounds. How does anyone gain 4 pounds in 3 day? Not to mention, my lunch with my friend for her birthday today at Razoos, where I had some blacken fish with rice and green beans. I ate some there, and I had the rest for dinner. My daughter made brownies tonight. Of course I had a few bites. I'm so disappointed. I will have really montor what I eat from now on. People who know I had this surgery are going to start talking about me. :frown: At my first week post op, I had the small amount of fluid removed. Needless to say, I have NO restriction. Help!!!!!!!!

First One

Tomorrow is my first fill. I’m a bit nervous but excited at the same time. I’ve been banded only 3 weeks and only lost about 10 pounds. I guess I shouldn’t feel too bad since on my first week post op visit, I had any remaining liquid removed from my band. Not only did this hurt like h#$%, but it left me with little to no restriction. I know that the fill is probably going to be painful tomorrow, because I’m still sore where my port is. It bothers me when I bend over and sometimes while I’m sitting. The pain is very uncomfortable. I would describe it as a burning sensation. I plan to discuss this with the doctor tomorrow. Is this pain familiar to anyone?
