Big hurdle!!

I have finally broke 100lbs. today. Didn't ever think I would ever see that. Still on full liquids due to the slippage but it has jump started my weight loss. Bad way to do it though. I am so excited about the new weight. :frown: I believe I love my scales again...lol. Would love to go celebrate but not many places have a menu for full liquids. I will just celebrate with you guys.

Stuck

I had my banding in May 08. I started out at 270 lbs. I am now down to 175 but seem to be stuck. I have 7cc in my band I think. Last time went to the doc he would not do a fill because I had lost five lbs since last visit. I am stuck at where I am at right now. I exercise an hour a day six days a week, eat healthy but appear to be stuck. Sometimes I think I can hold more than I should. I really need some advise on this if anyone is having the same problem. It is so discouraging.:cursing:

Band slippage

I am really unsure what happened to cause my band to slip. I don't think the band actually slips itself but your lower portion below the band actually slips up past the band causing the problem. Anyway, last month I had a round with the GI virus with the vomitting and whole nine yards. After that sometime I began noticing that when I ate my food felt like it was up in my chest and would take forever to digest. I "ignorant like" thought that maybe I was finally feeling some good restriction. Then one week I had heartburn continously. Called the doctor's office and scheduled a visit. The doc done a barium swallow, radiologist said it was okay, done a 2cc fill (my band is 14cc). That day and the next all I did was vomit. Ended up in the hospital with vomitting and dehydration. Did another swallow the next day and was found to be obstructed. Removed all of the fluid from the band, stayed on full liquids for two weeks. Feel fine right now but for the next three months I will have no restriction. Doc said today that at the end of three months we would start with a rapid fill and would not be as slow. I will need encouragement the next three months. I am determined not to put any weight back on so wish me luck!!!

Horrible few days!!!

Well, unfortunately for me I have experienced major band slippage since the last post. With my last fill apparently there was a major misread in the fluoro and my stomach had actually herniated through the band, then my surgeon put the 2 cc fill in causing major obstruction. Needless to say I have had a terrible past few days. Him and I had some heated discussion for two days and are ready to go back at it tomorrow. Appears he had tried to blame me at first for overeating. I told him I didn't think so. He screwed up. Finally got him to admit to it. So now my band is empty, starting from square one, won't be able to start to fill again for three months. I made a promist to myself, in the next three months I will lose or at least make a big dent in the twenty five more pounds I want to lose. Shouldn't be hard to start since I am on mushies for the next two to three weeks. Wish me luck guys.:cursing:

No weight gain but no loss either

Went back to the doc today. He was disappointed in the only one pound loss in three weeks. Needless to say, so am I. I am still keeping caloried in check and exercising. For the most part I eat healthy. He did another fill under fluoro. I am up to 11cc now. I have been sick since drinking all of the contrast and upchucked it. I waited a couple of hours and tried some cream of chidken soup, unfortunately that came back up. I only hope it is just the fill today. We will see tomorrow. I sure hope it is not an obstrction. Been there done that. To top it all off, my treadmill died. Ain't that a killer!!!! Aggravated and disappointed but I guess that too will pass.
