trying everything in my power to speed up this process

okay so i met with the surgeons and they said that i need to get a psych eval and take a nutrition class then i can get a second appointment and set a surgery date.... sooo right after those words were said and i left the class i called to schedule appointments even before the doc placed the referrals in.... the psych eval is this thursday:thumbup: But wen i called to schedule the nutrition class they said all of the classes were full for the next month.... HELL NOO!!! no nutrition class is gonna put me a month behind schedule...   okay so i wasnt accepting the fact that i would have to wait another month just to do this class and then another month after that to see a surgeon... soo i called back the next day and reworded my question a lil... hehe... soo i just asked wen the next nutrition class was again because i forgot.... then i found out its next week.. so i ran my mouth for a couple of minutes talking about who knows what i was just trying to distract the nutrition schedule lady:blink: who is probably just some 18 year old straight out of boot camp... military hospital for you...   lmao okay sorry to go off subjuect but if you folks havent noticed i think everyone at that hospital, besides the docs of coarse, are 18 years olld and straight out of bootcamp... i find this funny if you dont then sorry but its my blog and you should...   ok so back to my story....after distracting her with random questions and crazy conversation i got her laughing and then said ohh do i have to have an appointment or do i just show up... she said that im supposed to have an appointment and i said i didnt know that then this lovely lady told me to just show up early and they will squeeze me in and assume it was a mix up.. and besides its a classroom with a bunch of people i would be able to squeeze in... BAM!! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! I AM THE BOMB DIGGITY!!1:thumbup:   so i will be at my nutrition class next week... whoo hooo. its hard to get appointment because you have to book a month in advance just to see your primary care physician for a cough...   n e ways now that i have my 2 appointments scheduled and ready to go. i am able to set my appointment to see my surgeon... ohhh but they only schedule appoints 2 weeks in advance and they are booked for august.... aaaahhhhhhh:cursing: so i have to call back wenthe schedule openes up for sept...   its whatever... once again military facility... i think im gonna call everyday and ask if anyone canceled their appointments for august... which i think is a briliant idea...

1st appointment with surgeon

I had my appointment to meet up with my surgeon on base. It was actually a class full of people sitting down at desks while 2 surgeons talked and explained everything. it was very informative and we filled out a booklet of questions.. which asked about previous diets and stuff like that...   N e ways the surgeons were really laid back and supportive towards everyone getting the surgery.. which was a surprise because military docs can be real stuck up a holes that judge... but these were understanding and supported the surgery all the way.   They want me to log everything that i eat from now on... yea soo im gonna start tommorrow.. they also said that it is reccommended that we go on a high protein shake diet 2 weeks prior but they were really laid back about it. They basiclly said we could eat too but the surgeon would appreciate the protein shake diet for a smaller liver.. basiclly they didnt even really care they just suggested it.. i dont know if they are being laid back now because its just the begining and they dont wanna scare me away....and then they will snap the whip and make me go through hell at last minute...   but whatever it takes i am ready for. if im gonna go all out and get this surgery done I will be sucessfull and be an allstar and loose the weight... im just soo excited and driven to get this done...   So basiclly the next steps will be to go to a nutrition class :scared2:and have a psych eval and then back to the surgeon for a second visit and to schedule an appointment.   The surgeon said it would be about a month and a half to two month wait to get everything done and get the band put it... to me thats fast and i cant wait...   IM SOOOO EXCITED AND I JUST CANT HIDE IT!!!! I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW IM GONNA GET BANDED!!!!! WHOOOO HOOOO....

Poppin my Blog Cherry!!!

Ok so here it is my first blog ever... POP!! :w00t:that was my blog cherry. hehe.. ok so down to business. I am at the very begining of all of this. i have decided i want to get banded because I am fed up with being overweight... oh hold on i mean morbidly obese... aaaahhhh.... im 5'11 so i hide it pretty well but still the weight needs to go. Like everyone i have tried a lot of diets and i cant loose the weight and keep it off. I did a lot of research and read almost everything on this site as well as others and finally came to the conclusion that i want to get banded.   I am a military spouse and I was ashamed to have to go and see my doctor and ask to get banded. Our hospital is a military hospital on base and they have 18 year olds checking you in and working with you. N e ways i was embarrassed to have this fresh out of bootcamp kid check my weight and talk to me about why i want to see my doc.. but I finally said screw it who cares and did it.. i was thinking maybe itll be a civilian older lady that will check me in or something and that i was gettin all worked up for nothing..   And sure enough With my luck it wasnt. :thumbdown:It was not one but TWO straight out of boot camp airmen checking me in and i was their first ever..... ohhh god!!! talk about luck.. well screw them i needed to see my doc.. i had high blood pressure wen i was pregnant off and on but that day wen i went in i had borderline high blood pressure... probably because of those damn airmen.... which is a good thing because i need to have things wrong with me for tricare. haha.   n e ways i talked to the doc and he said he will refer me but he thinks that the general surgeon will deny me and make me try to take these prescription diet pills that was not covered by tricare and would have to be paid by me but will make me loose a ton of weight... i was like umm ok so im gonna be on pills my whole life.. he said no not really just for 4 months and then you are used to the lifestyle change and you wont need the pills..and at dollar a pill i would be broke and homeless but skinny... yea dont think so... soo anyways my referral to see the general surgeon was approved and i have to go in on monday for an one hour informative class.. I did the blood work and im excited to go to this class and there i will be told what exactly I need to do in order for me to get banded..   well thats that for now.. sorry for the long story but this was my first and i had to fill in the blanks....
