Ok, I’m supposed to start the mushy faze of this adventure. I need mushy food idea’s because I’m not eating Gerber with my 9 month old. LOL What have you all enjoyed? What exactly is considered mushy anyway? Thanks!

Simply-Smooth! No more bloated tummy!

I mentioned how desperate I was right…. Well, yesterday I drank two cups of a laxative tea called Smooth Move (one in the morning and one on my way home from work). My husband, bless his soul, also went to the store and bought me a drink called Simply Apple (amazing what an apple can do!). Now I don’t know which one did it or if it was a combo of the two but things got moving! Now I am all better. I knew there would be some difficulty going since I wasn’t putting all that much in my system to begin with, especially the weekend after my surgery. I knew I was slightly dehydrated and that would slow things down. But the bloating and pressure was getting way too uncomfortable. 10 days is a VERY long time to go without having a BM. Now I can get back to my diet plan and hopefully stay moving. I’m thinking of adding some Activia yogurt to my daily diet plan to stop this from happening again. But a little fiber in my protein shake every morning sounds like a plan too and cheaper I’m sure.   I can’t tell you all how much I love this place. Everyone is so wonderful and helpful. And yes, for sure we are all a family! I wish I would have found this site sooner…   Thanks to all! You guys rock!   P.S. I don’t know if I’d ever recommend the above combo to anyone for relief. Even though I feel much better now, it was a desperate measure and it was painful. For me it was worth it as I finally feel normal. Plus now I can feel that I lost weight - NO MORE BLOATED TUMMY! I’m going to be sure to add something to my daily diet so that I never have to go through that again!   XOXO -D

Banded 7/17?. NEED ADVICE/HELP!

Ok this has to be the craziest thing ever… talking to strangers about my “personal” stuff. Here’s the deal. I haven’t had a bowel movement since before my surgery (7/16). So basically it’s been TWO WEEKS! I saw my doctor a week after surgery and everything was great. He asked if I had a BM and I said no. He said to try Metamucil, which I did for the past week and NOTHING!   Now I’m desperate! Does anyone know of anything I can take to help? I know I would feel a whole lot better if I could get the yucky stuff out of my system. I feel bloated, tired and sickly. I should feel great right now.   HEEEELLLLPPPP!!!!

I Survived....

... I really wasn’t sure I was going to. I was so scared that I almost left the doctor’s office the day of, just walked right out! I told my husband with tears in my eyes that I didn’t want to do it anymore. And he was ready to carry me out of there – my hero!   Well, I stayed and on 7/17 I was banded! WOO HOO!   Today is my first day back to work. I could have come in yesterday, but really didn’t feel up to it. Today I feel much better. Actually, I feel great compared to the last few days. It was hard. I was in a lot of pain. I woke up from surgery in serious pain and was in pain all weekend long. I’m still a little uncomfortable, but ok. It’s tolerable.   I see my doctor again Friday for my first post op visit. I hope I can move on to mushy foods after I see him. My body seems to be accepting the band very well. I can drink everything just fine. My nausea is gone. I can even take larger sips without the fear of pain or vomiting (not that I threw up once).   I’m good. I’m happy. I’m on the track to losing (already lost 6.5 pounds in the last 4 days). Can’t wait to lose more.   :cursing:

I'm Scared!

Why am I so terrified!?!? I keep wondering if I’m not going to wake up… or something is going to go wrong during the surgery… or I’ll get home and be in terrible pain… ETC. ETC. ETC.   I’m due to get banded next Friday, 7/17. I started this journey in January. First it was just a thought. Then it was a determination. Now I’m here, and ready I Think.   HELP! Please help me feel at ease. I need shoulders! I don’t personally know anyone that’s had the procedure done. My family and friends are all very supportive, but they aren’t going under the “knife”.   QUESTION – Has anyone been banded by Top Surgeons in Beverly Hills, CA? How were you treated???  :confused::glare::confused::sad::confused::confused:
