It's been a while.....

So I think the last time I was blogged I still had fluid in my band. I was experiencing stomach/shoulder pain that I thought was related to my gall bladder. Completely wrong. I had an upper gi which found 3 ulcers!! Ouch!! So the lemonade that became my best friend after surgery has been kicked to the curb. At the start of all of this I also managed to get the flu, luckily not the H1N1, but ugh I was in bed for 7 days and lost 6lbs just while I was sick. My surgeon took out all of my fluid, which I have to admit was kind of exciting, the thought of getting to eat things again.....It didnt work out quite how I had hoped. I still found things that I couldnt eat (which I guess is good) like bread. I cant do bread no matter what, in any way that it comes.   It's been 8 weeks since that happened. I got to go through Thanksgiving with nothing in my band, which actually didnt make a difference I ate the same way/things I would have with fluid in the band. I went for my first fill finally last week, 3cc's, and so far so good. Over the last 2 months I managed to lose 2lbs, and my doc was excited about that since I wasnt restricted. Now that I have fluid again, I have really watched how I eat. I still had a problem with vomiting up until 3 weeks ago. It's so hard to remember to eat slow and chew your food, especially when everyone at the table is done. Its been 6.5 months since surgery and Ive lost 62lbs.....

First timer......

June 8, 2009. Thats the day I had surgery. It went pretty good. My pre-surgery weight was 325, 3 fills and 1 unfill later, I am done to 275. I am so very excited about that. Its been a long time since have been under 300lbs. I guess the reason I decided to start blogging was because I am starting to feel things that my friends and family cant understand. I am tired of hearing "eat if you want to eat", well it doesnt quite work that way. I will admit that I am not perfect, I do have the one thing that I couldnt live without....ice cream, but I do make better choices about it. Sometimes eating is so uncomfortable that I dont want to do it. Yes I know thats bad.....   I am interested in know how other people deal with the ups and downs of post surgery. I think I am starting to have gallbladder problems, thats what all the signs are pointing to. My hair...oh thats another story. Honestly tho, with all of that said, I would do it again in a heart beat. Its one of the best decisions Ive made.....
