I was banded August 3 & seem to be doing pretty well. I have lost 28 pounds, and I am still on the full liquid part of the post op diet. I went back to work last week, and worked half days, would come home and take a nap. Yesterday I was so tired all day!! Today I seem to be better, but then again it is 8:15 a.m. I would like some suggestions on getting some energy back, and not being so tired.
I would like to know what everyone has used on liquid diets. Some of the protien drinks, broth and jello are getting a litle boring.... lol. Any ideas would be appreciated!
I have a question. Did anyone try diet pills before having the lap band? I have been on diet pills before and do well with them. They help control the appetite, & I was able to loose weight. Then when I would go off of the diet pill my weight would come back on. My question is with the lap band can it be compared to that of a diet pill as far as it helping control your hunger?
Today I had my visit with my Doctor, and have my surgery date set. I am finished with all my pre op tests & ready to go. I am wondering if I am doing the right thing by having the lap band surgery. I have been telling myself that the lap band is going to be a tool to help me lose the weight . I hope that I have the will power that is going to be needed to use the lap band the way it should be used.
The month of June has passed pretty fast. When setting up appointments you think that a month out is quite a while to wait, but it does go fast. On the 6th on go in for my pre op testing and some have wondered if I will pass the psychology test! I have the support of my family & friends & even though we kid alot with each other I know they are going to be here for me.
I pray that after I go through with the surgery that I will be able to take the weight off. I keep telling myself that it is a "tool" to help me loose the weight. I want to be healthy again & be able to get out and enjoy life. I start having doubts about the surgery when I read or talk to people who are negative about how effective the surgery will be. I enjoy reading the posts on here, and it is helpful to read what others have gone through. Good luck to each of you!!
I am new to blogging, but gotta start somewhere. I am thinking pretty seriously about having the lap band done. I am curious to know how many times you have to go to the doctor after the surgery? I could have it done about 80 miles from where I live, but if I go 140 miles I can get it done cheaper. Thanks for any feed back.
