Hard time

I had a really bad day yesterday. Crying. I could not stop. Very emotional with the liquild diet. Did not get enough protein. It hurt everytime I sipped. Finally fiqured out I quit taking pain med too early. Every time I toook the pain med I just fell asleep. I Discovered need to take a little pain med to tolerate food. :thumbup: New goals today. Walk more, drink more water and get my protein in at least 60 gms. Nutrional told me about greek yogurt has 23 gms protein. will try smoothie today with it. Did sleep better last night. Fell like a new women today. Worried about the new philsophy of lean and mean. So far just mean. I'm leaving a wake of dead people in my path. If you want to know where, I at just look for the dead or dispondant. I'm always the fun one, no one needs to be around me right now. My children are looking at me as if i grew two horns and a tail. My husbands looks like he wants to cry everytime he looks at me.He has been very supportive. You really need support thru this process.

3 month anniversary of Band

Well I have lost 24 pounds. averages to 2 pounds a week. It is really about 1 pound a week now and I struggle. I do exercise 6 days a week. Done something stupid couple of weeks ago. I swallowed a decongestion pill whole and it got stuck. Could not keep food down. I drank 1/4 cup of diet coke to dissolve the pill and it worked. so only liquid meds for now. Can't believe i forgot my best news. I am completely off my diabetic meds and cholesterol meds after 11 weeks post op. Yeah. No more glucophage...:thumbdown:

struggling one week post op

If I see another shake I will hurt someone. Just discovered isopure drinks. LOVE them. 40 grams of protein per bottle. Just got a case a GNC. It's a very refreshing drink in the hot and humid weather we are having right now. Finally getting my 60 grams of protein in per day. Yea for me. This has been the emotional turning point for me. I'm exactly one week post op. But struggling with the food craving. Getting alot of quilting done. Can't eat, SEW or walk. Been walking alot also. Finally back done to my preop weight. Boy, that weight gain after surgery really is upsetting even though I knew it was temporary, Just depressing. I weight 25 pounds more post op from all the fluids and air forced into me. Today is looking brighter.

9 days post op still on Liquid Diet

I would kill for some food that I can actually chew. Still drinking my Isopure drinks getting in my 60 gams of protien a day> That is what my doc stress. Protein, protein..Going to daddy's today of course. Happy father day. Mom is cooking a meal that i get to smell and look at while I sip my food. It's fresh vegs for the garden. Green beans with ham. Oh lord I have to be strong today. On a fun note, I have lost oll of that extra surgery weight and no below my orginal weight. upside i'm losing about 1 pound a day due to the liquid diet. I will see doc tomorrow for 1st post op visit.

thank goodness for this blog

Yesterday much better. Mom is staying with me a couple of days to help now that my husband is going back to work. Still struggling with getting liquids in..not worried about protien just trying to recover and stay hydrated. I intake about 20 grams protein aday and i try to sip at water all day long. Still taking pain meds because its the only way to drink without pain. Walking definitly helps more than anything. This forum anwsers all my questions and helps me to feel not alone in this process. The strange thing is I dream about eating food. I expected too much of myself after surgery. I did not realize the weigh gain right after surgery. Still very swollen and bloated. Today's goal Relax don't worry be happy. Gonna crank the music up and walk.

post op day 5

Moms gone home. Husband gone back to work. All alone and I called a friend to pick me up for Guild. Guild is the Allatoona quilting guild. Just 100 friends that get together every week to quilt.(well only about 40 show up weekly) I'm teaching block of the month this year. I designed the quilt also, So I feel like it is my baby. Check it out at www.freewebs.com/2aqg. This week is block of the month class. I have a fill in instructor this week. I hope I'm not overdoing it but quilting relaxes me and they are a strong support system for me. We stitch and bitch till about 2pm. I may come home at noon if i get to tried. Also have a visiting quilt teacher Miss rosie quilt co.in next town is speaking tonight a 7pm and I want to go. Hope I fill up to it.   Still not getting enough protein. Used to like the shake and now can't even stand to smell them. I smell real food then I sip at the shake. Still dream about eating and I wake up feeeling full and satisfied. Is there somthing wrong with this picture?   Friend emailed a good quote for today "Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass....it about learning how to dance in the rain"   Goals for today. Get out and about. packing my cooler and quilting stuff.:confused:

upcoming doc visit

10 more days till surgery. I have to see my surgeon tomorrow and I don't know why I'm really nervous. I have a sense of impending doom. I'm afraid the doc will cancell the surgery for some reason. :w00t:

All is well

I'm just a worriwart. Everything is a go. Counting down to June 11th. 9 more days to go. I don't have to do the liquid diet til 48 hours proir to surgery. Thank goodness.

Post op day 20

Stage 2 part of diet. blended meat looks good when you have only had liquids. I have had salmon and lots of mashed potatoes. I'm afraid to eat red meat yet. I eat about every 3 hours while awake.It's tough to wait one hour after eating but i make mayself busy and before I realize it is time to drink. Learning the difference between head hunger. If I need food my tummy feels empty and growls. Surgical sites are healing. Doc has released me for the swimming. yeah. :redface: Got to much sun sunday. Bought new sunscreen. Still walking in am. Find it tough to get up but once i get there i'm fired up. I have so much more energy after the walk. Just added some great songs on my ipod. Music helps with motivation.

The last test

Had a ultrasound of right upper quadurant and upper GI. Everything went well. Will not get results of test till tuesday june 9th two day before surgery. Hope the test read well. anxiously awaiting.......ever hopful.....

4 months Post band

Slowly but surely the weight is falling off. Lost 30 lbs at this point. I stilll have bad days where I have to push myself to exercise. I find that if I get at least 8 hours of sleep I do much better and feel much better. Sleep is a large key to success that I have overlooked. I have had 3 fills and currently have 7 cc in band.

First post op doctor visit

Day 10 post op. Lost 2 pounds from pre-op weight. Wounds are closing a little slow. He left stitches intact. Have to stay out of work for a couple more weeks due to the lifting part of my job.Some how I'm not sad about that. :crying: Doc wants me to stay on liquid diet til friday. He says once I add more carbs into my diet weight loss with slow down. Walking two miles a day now. Have to get up early because its too hot and humid by 9 am. I have a bit of a routine now. AM meal: Carnation instant breakfst drink 13 grams of protein.Sugar free (SF) Hour later: Cream of wheat with butter and salt/pepper Lunch: Soup favorite right now is Tomato bisque by campbell's only able to eat 1/2 can Snack in early afternoon; SF pudding or sf popscicle Dinner: rest of the tomato soup. 1/2 scoop of low fat SF ice cream In between meals all day I drink 1.5 bottles isopure in order to get in protein. 40 grams per bottle I get 2 snacks a day. My caloric intake is about 820 per day. I can hardly wrap my mind around that low number because I'm not hungry between meals.

Distraction

I use distraction when I smell food the kids are cooking.The smell makes my tummy roll. Sometimes I have to leave the room, I go to my sewing room, Getting caught up on alot of projects. I start reading, or searching for things on computer. Very distracting for me. My weakest times are at evening hours and night. I'm used to watching tv and eating. One bad haibit that has to change. I'm in process of learning so much about myself. Still losing a pound a day on the liquid diet. I know this will not continue but what fun to watch to watch the scale. I have the realize band. They give you a personalized number for your special computer access to your own everything. Still trying to work with program. Trying to fiqure out how to calucate the food section. I'm only taking 3 of my eight pills.
