Reflux = too tight

I ended up in the ER last night for an emergency unfill. Started with reflux 5 nights ago and then wed. afternoon I was having a hard time keeping anything down. All day Thursday I just kept on vomiting all day. Whatever I drank or ate it came back up. I was feeling so weak and tired from the whole thing. I had called my doc. on Tues. and he said to start taking prilosec 2 times per day and sleep with my head up at night and dont eat or drink for 3 hours before bed. I feel like he was good when all was good and now that I am having problems he does not want to know anything. I only got a 0.25 cc fill last week and it really made a big difference. The PA in the ER said I was too tight. I was worried a had a slip of the band. What sucky feeling to be sooo hungry and can't eat or drink a thing. I am glad today that I am feeling better. Everyone out there please listen to your body and dont let your surgeon push u around. I have not spoken to him yet and he did not even call here to see how I was today. I was expecting to hear from him and nothing.... My advice to all out there is if you start with reflux syptoms go and get some taken out. I wanted to get to Onederland but not this way. What a meal?

Well, I made it through the day. Ate pretty good. Made some good choices and made some bad. All together not too bad. Did not have any PB episodes. Was able to eat slowly and not get sick. Not feeling too much restriction and trying to pretend like I do. Lots of choices today. Ate dinner with my bf's family. Was able to make the best of it and it was uneventful. My son had a good time and I got to whip his ass at 500 rume. (not sure how to spell that) I hope u all had a good holiday and a safe one. god bless

Week 2 Post op

I am feeling hungry. I am taking things one day at a time. Can't wait to go for my follow up appt next wed. with my surgeon. I have lost about ten pounds. For the past few days I have stayed the same. I am trying not to think about the scale. I want to do well and I know that I have to change the way I think about food. We now have a different relationship. This site is really helping me. I want to stay active and keep my spirits up.

Still waiting for my fill

I could not go for my fill appt. this past Tues. because my son needed to have out his wisdom tooth. My life has been so crazy and the end is near. We purchased an investment property here in Milford and our tenants are moving in this weekend. We have been at the house everyday painting and do all the repairs. I work 3 days per week as a Nurse and those really have been my only days off from working at the new house. I just can't wait for it to be over. This is our first time doing this and paiting a 7 room home and 3 full baths is ALOT of work. Anyway, my son has been home for a few days recovering and I am just beat. My doctors office is an almost hour ride away. They say they can't get me in for like 10 days and they will call me if they have a cancellation. I just want a fill. I know that I need one. He has not injected me in 3 months because he said I was doing great. I updated my ticker. It still feels weird to look at it and think wow , that is me. I really have lost 38 pounds. Everyone have a great day and keep up the good work!! :crying:

Down 4 lbs in 2 wks

I went today for my 3rd fill. I could not believe it when they put me on the scale. She says you are down 4 lbs. I was so happy. I do not feel restriction yet but have been making better food choiced and smaller portions. I have been to the gym but last week not as often as I should have. I was glad he still was willing to give me a fill. My doc. put in another .75 cc. I am now at 2.75cc in a 10 cc band. I am in my girlfriend's wedding this weekend and was so disappointed that I had to get the next size dress but considering that I ordered it 2 sizes smaller way back in Oct. I think that is still progress. Feeling good today about choosing the lapband. :blushing:

A fill hopefully tomorrow....

I go to my surgeon tomorrow for my monthly appt. I know I have lost but not sure how much. I want a fill. He has not injected me in 3 months. I am suppose to have 3.75cc in my 10 cc band but I don't think it is all there. I am nervous and excited about tomorrow. I asked my b/f to come with me. I am glad he is going to drive b/c that parking garage is a nightmare. anyway.... the last time he did inject me he had a hard time finding the port. He told me to remind him that it is tilted to the right side. I hope it all goes smooth tomorrow. I don't want to gain during the holidays. I want to continue to lose and meet my 1 year goal. I am half way there. I will post tomorrow night and let u know if he injected me. Have a good night everyone.

Got my Fill finally .....Thanks Doc

Well I brought my b/f with me to this appt. today. He is my 4 leaf clover. He is my good luck charm. The nurse puts me on the scale and I only lost 2 lbs this month. I was happy b/c I then knew he would inject me. So he comes in and we speak for a few minutes and then he says ok lets see where we are. He injects the needle and pulls back and tells me there is 3.75 cc in there. He then puts me at 4 cc. I am so happy b/c he got it the first shot and no pain. No discomfort. FIRST SHOT!!! YES.... I was so nervous. I am down over 40 lbs since May and he is happy with those results. He does not want to see me too tight. Too many problems. well, I am going to watch things very carefully. I have a work Christmas Party this Thurs night and know it is going to be hard. That really is the tough part, eating out..... Wish me luck everyone. :wink2:

I hope there is restriction now

Today I go to soft foods. I have been on liquids for 2 days. Lost another 2 lbs. being on liquids which I am sure will come right back when I starting eating reg. foods again. I now have 2.75 cc in my band. I go back again in 2 wks. My doc. is wonderful. I need to really focus on eating the protein first. I am in a wedding this Sat. and I really can't wait for this to be behind me. I feel that the dress is more appropriate for the thinner girls in the wedding party. My being 230 lbs. Not really a good dress for the "fat girl". At this point I just want to go and make the best of the day and smile. The bride is my dear friend for 35 years and I will be 41 in a few weeks. I would love to change my ticker but I am having a terrible time attempting to do so. I have lost 20 lbs so far. My surgery was May 11 th. :smile2:

Too much too soon !!

I was feeling so good. My belly was really starting to feel normal again. So yesterday I got on my boyfriend's Harley for a ride. Getting on and off was slow but I felt I did great. So, last night we went to bed and I am still sleeping on my back so that I do not cause any damage. I am 2 weeks post op today. Well, I woke up and now I am suffering for that bike ride. My belly is very sore and almost feels like I could benefit from an abdominal binder. I go for my 2 wk post op appt tomorrow. I am going to continue to take tylenol every 4 hours today. I just think I over did it ~~~~

One day at a time

I am 2 weeks away from my next fill appt. My belly constantly does this gurgling thing. It is crazy. All of the sudden I can eat more food. I am burping and have the hiccups several times per day. I did not have a good day today and ate more than ususal. Maybe I am being too hard on myself. I want to be one of those girls with a 100 lb. weight loss. I was able to eat a mini sub today at Subway. I ordered it as a mini sub but still I was able to eat it. Tonight for dinner I ate a half of a meatball grinder. I could not believe I could eat that. I am going to start keeping a food journal and have it out ready for tomorrow. My honey is taking me to the casino tomorrow in Ct. called Mohegan Sun. I am really looking forward to a good time. Then it is long hours on the weekend working. I think I am going to call the surgeon's office in the am and see If I could move up my appt. to next week. I know that I am down and do not want to gain it back. We go to Disney in 3 weeks and would love to be down another 10 lbs. well just thought I would give a quick update. I wish all of you continued sucess with your lap band.....:thumbdown:

My Doc won't give me a fill

I went this am to see if I could get a fill. My surgeon is very happy with my progress and doesn't feel I need it. He does not want to see me get too tight and says I am doing a good job. I lost another 4 lbs since my last appt. 3 weeks ago. He sat and spoke with me for about 20 min. He went over all the complications from being filled too tight. He is such a nice guy it is hard to get mad. I am disappointed. I drive an hour to see him and then wait for some time to hear keep up the good work. He says that I am a good patient and I am doing it the right way. I would love to say my hunger is gone but it is not. He says that for some people the hunger does not go away ever no matter how filled they are. He comes across alot of individuals who eat around the band and make bad choices and still gain or do not lose after this surgery. I don't know what to do. I am not going to rush back there anytime soon. It takes up my whole morning. The only good part was seeing the scale go down which I knew b/c I weigh myself every morning. I hope everyone is well today and keep up the good work !!!!:smile2:

? Band tighter after exercise

Does anyone think that there band is tighter on a day that they get a good workout in? I have noticed that when I do my step class in the am, those are the days that my band is tighter? Any thought ???

Feeling much better

Well today is a new day. I feel so much better. That strange feeling that lasted days after the fill is gone. Drinking esp. cold fluids really was annoying. It felt so uncomfortable. Now today things are starting to feel normal again. I am eating very little and worked out this am at the gym. Did step class. I am ok with things sticking with soft items. I am just thrilled that today the soups and liquids are going down much better. I think the swelling went down fromt the fill on last Tuesday..... Thank god !! Feeling sooo much better !!
