???

I cannot believe i am almost 5 weeks post-op. I feel good! Better than i have in a long time. I do get this wired feeling of a lump in my throat from time to time. Its sometimes drives me crazy. It does not hurt its just annoying! If it wasn't for that everything would be perfect. I have asked about it before. I had one person say its restriction but it often happens with out having eaten. :smile2: I just sent my doctors office an email asking what it may be. My weight loss has really slowed down. I am ok with losing it slowly as long as i am losing and not gaining. :wink2:

pro op! wow

What a draining day yesterday! I had my pre op appointment. My appointment was at 1 but of coarse the dr didnt get to me till like 2:30. IN that time i met so many people in the waiting room. Frist there was girls that had had lap band and didnt lose anything! the both said they were not happy with the chose they made. So that made me question if i was doing the right thing. Then two more ladies came in both with lap bands an said they had no probles eating anything. Well come to find out the first two girls had been banded by a diffrent doctor and we not even sure if it was done right. That made me feel a little better. Every single person i met yesterday that was banded my dr all said they can eat almost anything and had very little pain. Like i said i was there for almost two hours, I met another lady who had had the bypass (not from my dr) and was telling me how much trouble she had with it. All the same thing that happen to my cousin ( my cousin died from the bypass). Turns out the had the same Doctor and she knew my cousin. They had had surgery the same day and kept in touch till he died! Small world huh. She told me how MY dr had saved he life and how DR Dr. Terry Sanderfer   has killed or nearly killed so many people. :tt1: I dont understand how he is till allowed to practice.

first fill

Yesterday i had my first fill. It was a lot easier that i thought it would be. The Doctor told me not to worry about the numbers that was his job, so i have no idea how much fluid i have in my band. It looked like i had 2cc from surgery and he put in 3cc. I am not sure it just looked like it 5cc when he pulled all the fluid out then pushed it back in. I am kind nervous about my fill. I was doing so good before. I could everything, pizza, rice, bread, just smaller amounts. My goal for this was to able to live a "normal" life and be able to lose a health amount of weight. Then maintain it! I know if i have to much fluid i can always have an un-fill. We shell see! Mothers day is sunday and i will still be on soft foods:bored:. I am down to 219. I have going to the gym and working my butt off! I want to be down to 200 by summer! Its gonna take lots of work!

ten thousand questions????????????

I have so many questions? My biggest fear is that i am going to miss food. (thats crazy i know) Did any one have that same fear? What is it like to want pizza for dinner and not be able to have it? what does it feel like to get full so fast and still have food on your plate that you want to eat?   I have so many more but these are the big ones for today!?!

Today i start mushies! I feel so good! sometimes when i do to much i feel a little pain in my band area then i realize ohh-oh gotta take a brake. its tuff to "recover" with a 2 year old and a 4 year old taring apart my house. Laundry still needs to get done floor need to get moped..ect. I have not won the lottery yet so i have to do all that my self. I got on the scale this morning 223!!! (started at 245) I officially love my band. Hopefully i will love it even more when i can eat real food. I hate to vomit so right now my prayers include please lord never let me vomit.

pain?

So i have two weeks to dwell and that is what i am doing! I have a question for the women out there that have had children. Is the surgery pain any worse then a c-section? I have had two and just keep thinking to my self it cant be any worse than that right???? And how long to you feel like your self again?:tt1:

I was doing so well and.....

My son gets what think is a stomach flu. Yep you guessed whats next, i got it too! I have not vomited since i was pregnant with my 2 year old. I HATE to VOMIT!!! (T.M.I sorry) Vomiting after being banded is the worst feeling i have ever experienced. Nothing would come out my band seemed to block it from coming up.. I could only get a few tea spoons up at a time it was even trying to come out of my nose. It seemed like my body HAD to get it out but couldn't. I thought i was going to die because i could not breath. It was so violent. i am so scared i did something to my band. This morning i called my doctors office the nurse told to to take the anti vomiting meds they perscribed before surgery... Why didnt i think of that? i could have saved my self this horrible expierance. Has anyone out there ever had this experience:confused:?

harder than i thought! **ONEderland*** finally!

I have to say i started this process thinking it was going to be easy. I guess i thought i would have surgery i would eat less and the weight would fall off. BOY WAS I WRONG!! I am glad i was wrong. I fell betterknowing how hard i work for my weight loss. The past month i have been at the gym 5 days a week for at least 2 hours. I have only lost 5 lbs this month! (witch puts me under 200lbs :smile2:) But i am sooo much more fit and active. I climbed a rock wall last week. this is some thing i thought i would never do. I never thought i would have the upper body strength to do it. It was the best feeling. It made me understand that all my hard word is not for nothing. and sometimes (just sometimes) the scale number just dont matter. My name is Laurie Lopez and I no longer weight 200 pounds!:smile2: (tear)

I have all my pre-op stuff ready to go but i am having trouble finding a dr for my psych evaluation. All th dr's that are covered dont do it or want to charge an arm and a leg to write the report.:w00t:

its been a while!

I'm down to 205. Life has really got in the way of my weight loss. This summer has been so busy. I cannot wait till things slow down. My husband and i took in a foster child. he is a family members child. So now i have My two boys 4 and 3 and a 15 month old. Needless to say i dont get to the gym nearly as often as i was. I do walk my oldest son to and from school witch gives me a good 20 walk but it does not seem to be enough. I have noticed lately that my band work wonderfully till about 2 then i become a bottomless pit. I can eat sooooo much more after 2pm. i have 7cc in a 10cc band so there is no way i want another fill. Does anyone else have this issue?

I should have got samples and tired them all first! I spent way to much money to not use them so i guess i will be gaging every shake for the next two weeks! Wish me luck!

tomorrow is the day!

Tomorrow is my surgery day! I am ready to just say lets forget the hole thing. I am so scared! I am mostly scared for my family. I laid in my bed with my oldest son last night and just looked and him and started balling! I want to watch him grow up.Then i think there is a better chance that i wont if i don't have surgery. Yesterday my om told me, " you know you still back out". Kinda made things worse. I want to hear "your going to fine". Encouraging words. Why is that so hard. My husband told me a few days ago that he was proud of me! I was happy to know that he being supportive. I know he is just as scared as i am. I think he knew how i was feeling last night and he just kinda stood away from me. How do i not think about this all day. I have so much to day today!

my surgery experance and more questons

I had to be at the hospital at 6:30am.I waited and waited till around 11:30 before they were finally ready for me. (i almost walk out at leat 5 times) finally they got me all ready with nice tight socks an iv and a really cool gown that kept me warm and i was off to wait some more. they had me in the pre surgical waiting room for like another hour and a half. I must have cried the hold time i was there. Then finally my doctor came in to see me. He calmed me down a bit then off i went. The helped me to change beds in the or the all of a sudden i hear some one say goodnight and i was out! I remember waking up in a crazy amount of pain. They had to change my iv and couldnt get in it in fast enough i had woke up with no paid meds. Finally they got it in and i had pain relief. I had to stay in the recovery room for hours because they didnt have any rooms upstairs. Finally at around 6pm i got a room. I Did fine. No vomiting...ect.did my walking ect. I felt really good the next morning. walked again. Had a upper GI then i was released to go home. Now this is where i have run into some trouble. I feel like i have to burp really bad and cant. almost like indigestion. I have only had liquids. I am taking gas x but nothing. Is this normal? HELP!!!!!!!:blushing:

13 weeks post op

I cannot believe how time flies! Since surgery i have lost 30 lbs. I am down to 213! I still think i eat alot on some days. I am kinda afraid to get another fill because some days i have good restriction. I have another doctor appointment on the 1st of july. Would like to know his opinion. I feel like i am getting my life back. My goal was to be at 200 before my vacation in july. I go to the gym 4 times a week on a good week. Hopefully that will be enough to get it done.
