Band Erosions

After reading so many postings about the dreaded band erosion, I decided to dig a little deeper into this problem many us have or possible may, hopefully "may not" have to deal with in the distant future. From the medical journals I've read so far, 35% of band patients experience some type of erosion to some degree and about 2% of those have their bands removed.   Some doctors will not reband within six months of removal and depending on the severity of the erosion rebanding may not be an option however, gastric bypass is an option and some doctors will perform the procedure at the time the eroded band is removed.   With this said I say, please research for yourselves what causes erosion and eliminate those behaviors to the best of your ability and live life to the fullest. Motivational Secrets?

Hello to all of you wonderful bandsters. The purpose of this Blog is to request each of you to post what "you" believe to be you source of strength to: put your goals at the forefront of your life whether it is prayer, meditation, favorite quotes or inspiration from others, or support and advise from a person who has traveled down this same road. Whatever it is, please share your stories that may help us less focused constantly distracted and who lacks integrity when it comes to our own individual goals. I must say that for now my motivation stems from a fear of failure. I must give myself a far shake at making this work without self sabotaging the way I've done many times in the past. I also believe in preparation, I have adult ADD and I have to plan out everything ahead of time or nothing at all will get done. I have make a daily schedule or I WON’T go to bed on time, I say up too late and feel too tired to work out or leave the house without eating breakfast because I over slept. The list goes on and on for me. I'm can’t wait to read all the creative ideas that you all have and I know the information you post will help someone. Have a very Happy New Year! Thank you, Ann

Dealing with friends and Co-workers

I have tried many times to figure out why my friends aren't happy for me. Here is my conclusion: women see other women for the most as competition, whether it is cooking, the clothes you wear or the car you drive. Not all women feel this but there are still a few people that may be within your close circle who will not understand the plight of your fight and that’s okay. Just remember to limit the information you give them and you won’t have to hear it again. They can still be a friend but not a buddy. A buddy is someone that’ll go down in the trenches with you and get dirty then climb out and extend their hand to help pull yourself out. A buddy will remise about the many battles you’ve fought together over the years and laugh or cry together and then celebrate your victories time and time again. A buddy can be male or female, husband or wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son or daughter. A buddy is a person you connect with and even at times when you don’t understand what the other buddy is going through, you try to be empathic and listen as long as it takes your buddy to overcome his or her struggle. What is the difference between a friend and a buddy? A friend will scoop you up and take you to the hospital after fighting a fierce battle; a buddy will go to battle the ground with you and fight with love and a whole lot of prayers. Question: What is the difference between a friend and a buddy?
