The Daily: Fills, Chest Pain, and Sour Stomach

I finally got another fill. It is helping alot. Weight loss has started again. Yeah!   Chest pain and sour stomach: I noticed more aching in my chest in general after this fill. It's really bad today. I think it's probably related to my sour stomach. I ate something yesterday that is not sitting well on my stomach. It's a miracle I haven't puked yet. I really hate getting food poisoning. How do banster's deal with food poisoning and sour stomach with the band?   Shoulder Pain: When I went to get my fill I was told my shoulder pain is probably do to a stomach ulcer. It does make sense. My shoulder usually hurts when my stomach is empty, and it makes not difference if the pouch is full or not. Also milk makes the pain go away. However I'm still kind of shocked because I've never had issues with stomach ulcers until now. Are ulcers more common in those who have been banded?

The Daily

Eating accountability today   1/2 pep stick coffee w/milk   Restricted today..woot..how crazy it's almost nothing one day and full on the next.   small bites here and there of meat, veg, starch when hungry..worked out to be lunch and dinner.   1 slice toast w/butter   1/4c nuts   2p candy bar 2p sf candy small

The Daily: Not filled enough?

I've only lost about 20lbs since I got the band last years. They were slow on filling to make sure not to overfill, but I don't think I got enough. For the most part my weight is more stable than it's ever been and I was gaining on a regular basis before the band. However I still have a huge problem with night eating. I am restricted during the day, but at night I still have almost none. I am wondering if I get enough restriction if this will change and the weightloss will continue. I still have issues as well with the food only staying in the pouch for perhaps 15 minutes max. How tight should the band be?

The Daily: Dealing with feeling deprived

Went out to eat with the family. I wanted to scarf everything in sight. (Head hunger mixed with stomach hunger) Between the little restriction I have and the low carbs I should stick to..I was starving for food, and starving for freedom to eat what I want...a grr moment. Eventually I'll have to work through this. BTW the starving for food went away very quickly. The band really does resolve that in a few bites, it just doesn't last long.   Eaten coffee w/cream 4p sliced meat   1 small piece fish 1/2 slice meat loaf couple bites salad   1/2c ice cream (so bad, and horrid on the sugar...that's my head begging not the tummy)   Either way not going to feel bad about it. I think the guilt over the little things just fuels mini binges, and they are stopping much of my weightloss.

The Daily: Blah Pain

I constantly get pain in my left shoulders since the surgery. I have no idea what is causing it. I take the gas strips, but it still happens. Especially when I have to sit upright for a long period of time. I really hope this eventually goes away. It gets so bad I can't even move the arm.   Eaten greens 1/2c 2b mashed taters 2oz lamb   3b fish sand 5 fries

The Daily: Mini Goal

Mini goal time...woot!:banghead::w00t:   Setting a mini goal. My goal is to reach 242lbs by Dec 30th :willy_nilly:   If you're reading this and want to set a goal for yourself, please feel free to post it here and we'll all check back on the 30th of December.   Currently stalled out. Restriction is hit and miss right now. I had some this morning, yeah! Either way I'm doing my best not to blow it badly and stick to my goals. I realize the band can't do it all. So far eating on demand and keeping it fairly lc is working to lower my bg.   Today's Eats You know eating out can be a blessing with this band. I am way more careful in public not to get anything stuck. It also feels good not to clean the entire plate. I may whine alot about not having enough restiction, but when I can see my plate is not completely empty...it feels good.   1oz steak w/gravy 1 egg w/gravy 1 bite hashbrowns 3 bites mixed fruit 1 bite bread   2p sf candy   1p sf candy (really wanted to scarf everything, stressfull day...the band stopped it.) 1/2c pasta (pity eating because of the stress day...luckly now pity eating is a half cup, but I'll still be glad for more restriction to help me break this bad habit)   Band 101: If you let it, it will make you face the reasons you overeat, but it's sometimes no fun.   I found out I'm more restricted today, and will probably be for the rest of the week...finally a plus to having my period! :incazzato:

The Daily: Anyone else have varying restriction?

My restriction is changing. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Some days I have way more than others. It also seems to change from morning to night. I'm never really sure what to expect. However I usually have no restriction at night. How is your band short term and long term?   Improvement on eating patterns. I actually manage to eat when I was physically hungry and ignore the head hunger. However at about midnight I got the shakes. I checked my bg it was dropping quickly. I know if I keep this up eventually my body will adjust. Then this won't happen so much. Of course it happened at midnight so I could eat pretty much anything.   Eaten 1.5c cereal w/milk (middle of the night, low bg had the shakes)   3oz meal egg, few bites hashbrown w bacon crumbs (actually had restriction woot) 2bites fruit :willy_nilly:   Night time no restriction..blew it and mini binged...ED rearing it's ugly head. Going to stop and move on...do my best not to repeat it tomorrow. I think I did it because I was tired, and it's a habbit...still glad the fill stops this from happening during the day, because my head hasn't quite worked it out yet.   1 bowl cereal 3 sf candies several nuts lots of meat slices 5 corn chips w/dip 2c milk

The Daily: Night eating no restriction Goal

Mini goal: To stop the night eating...This is the time I have no restriction. Anyone have any suggestions?   Zero restriction today :confused:   Eaten Veggies n fish 2 rolls small w/butter 1 bite burger   1 bowl cereal 1/4c nuts 4 thin sliced meat 2 sf candies   Stopping my night eat now..trying to do my best...this is tough...It's like I have no band at all right now. :cool:

Hi there, my name is Jenn. I've always had a problem with my weight. I have only been small for very short periods of time, and never skinny. My family is riddled with diabetes and strokes. I desided to face the fact that diets really do fail over 90% of the time and they hadn't been the solution for me. I was banded in June. So far I've lost about 20lbs and have adjusted my diet many times.   Even if this is all I ever lose, I have no regrets. It stopped a steady weight gain. Diets have never worked for me.   I'm also a diabetic PCOS'er. So weightloss is slow, but I expected that.   I am a semi-low carb eater and always looking for new recipes.   I'll be posting here as much as possible to workout diet kinks. The Daily: Eating and Diabetes

Hello all,   I'm learning more about living with the band everyday. It often seems like a mix of dealing with my obvious eating disorder (overeating), health problems (from overeating), and learning to work with a semi-restricted band to achieve the best outcome. Today I'm adjusting meal times to get better bg. Warning I'm not a perfect lowcarber, but I try.   Perhaps this won't be a huge problem once I get more restriction. (Next fill on Dec 10th)However right now I can pretty much eat anything I want and not feel full. I have been told time and again, that eating regular lc meals will keep my blood sugar from going up and down. This may be true for some, but it's turning out not to be, for me. Eating every four hours or so is turning out to be a killer. My sugars ride high almost the whole day. I'm usually not hungry when meal time rolls around. I think by forcing myself to eat that I'm actually not giving my body enough time to compensate for the next meal. Also in the middle of the night my bg drops like a rock and I end up at 3 am eating a bowl of carbs to stop the shakes. I think I'm going to try to stop forcing regular meal times, and focus more on when my body is asking for food.     Today's Eats   *3am bowl of fiber cereal n cream, had shakes bg's were all over the place*   1 atkins bar 1 hashbrown bite, 1 bite french toast stick (wanted to slam these down, but it would have been bad all the way around) iced tea   1 zone bar 1tbs pb 1 pep stick   1 small slice of roll 2oz cheese 2 slice meat

The Daily: Experiment Going Well

My sugars are down, even though I'm not eating on a schedule. Just trying to wait till hungry. Restriction is almost non existent. I have a little in the morning, I get a bit of a soft stop, but by the afternoon there is no stop at all. I can take huge bites and eat any amount. Right now just trying to keep my weight and sugars in line until I get better restriction.   Eaten cheese n sausage w/1 slice toast   2c sf juice   3/4 fish sand (not so sure this was a good idea, too many carbs)   2 sf candies 1/2 lc sorbet   1 slice toast (actually got about 3/4 of it down, then got a soft stop, yah! However it was gone in about 2 minutes and I felt the pouch completely empty. )

The Daily: All I want for xmas is more restriction :P

Still stuck with the band that most everything passes threw. I usually have restriction my first meal and nothing after that. Is that normal?   Eaten 1/8 cheese quesadilla w/mashed avocado 1 buffalo blast w/dressing 1 bite chicken wrap   4 mini candies   10 nuts

The Daily

Right now working on keeping it low carb and becoming more aware of when I'm eating to reduce snacking. The band does help by making sure I can't snack on alot, but snacking is still a problem.   Shoulder Pain I've had insane shoulder pain since the surgery. I know this isn't uncommon, but it's a real hassel sometimes. I tried some gasx just in case it's a bubble, and liquid painkiller. I hope it works.     Today's Eats coffee w/3 tbs cream n 1 scoop lv protein powder   lc taco >1 lc shell fried up in olive oil, mashed veggied mixed w/meat for filling (veggy mash takes the place of gravy to help avoid meat sticking), shredded cheese   a few nuts 1 atkins bar   berries w/cream 1 atkins bar 1/5c nuts     (Still have very little restiction. I'll be happy for my next fill)   Night time is the worst. I have some restriction, but most solid food passes threw the band within about a minute. I am hoping the next fill will help...ALOT

The Daily: Good Eats N Drinks

When to drink and when not to..wow this has really turned out to be important for me. I still don't have alot of restriction, but if I drink anything within a half hour before eating it's a free for all *no restriction*. Still, right now I don't even have to take small bites or chew well. I'm even pondering if I have a leak.   Today's Eats   1 mini orange 1 sausage and cheese sand   1/4c nuts 1 sf yogurt w/berries 1 mini orange cup 5 sf peanut candies   1 sausage patty 1 atkins bar
