A little update from me

Got a phone last week to appear on the tv here in Scotland next week about my weight-loss and what difference the band has made to me, the difference in my totally changed lifestyle. I am going on with a Dr Super who is a surgeon from England who does tons of both operations. I am starting to panic god knows what I will be like come Wed 27th May. My other problem what does one wear to appear on the tv.

Hi well had a good bandiversary yesterday, decided to take a new photo to let everyone see the difference, I was at the support group I ran last nite and one of the girls brought in 2 bottles of shoer which was lovely of her not only that I was another 5kg down so my weight continues to go down.

tomorrow is my 1st bandiversary

Well here I am one year tomorrow since I had my gastic band operation, I should be feeling on top of the world with the amount of weight that I have lost, but there is just one wee thing bothering me and it,s my self image. I still see myself as grossly overweight, I have lost 140lb roughly with another say 56lb to go I know that I will do it evenually. I am glad that I had the band operation because I am the total opposite of how I was before getting the band I sat on the couch and stuffed my face nite after nite now I hate sitting in. Tomorrow I am running the Murrayfield support group this is now our 3 or 4 monthly meeting not only is it my 1st bandiversary but Chris Oilver is coming to be a guest speaker. We are all going out for a christmas nite out so I am looking forward to that.

checking out my city

On Sunday cause I was off Michael, myself and the girls headed of to Arthur Seat for a walk, we parked the car at the foot of the radicial road and started walking, walking and more walking, we took in beautiful views across Edinburgh, we went past 3 lochs, Salisbury craggs, Scottish Parliament, a fresh water spring and we went past Holyrood Palace where queen lizzy stays whilist she in town. Not only did we get to the top of this extinct volcano we walked right round before we knew it we had done a full circle. When we got back to the car we decided to do the same route by car so up the radical road once more setting the milage 1st we continued right round to discover that we had all walked 4 miles up and down hill. I was so delighted that I had done it just thought I would share it with you all.

Hooray

I went to get weighted last Tuesday I was down by 2kg great considering I was always hungry and had no restriction at all. The doc decided to get the fluid out the band well low and be hold it was -2mls doc said that was the case sometime. I had tried for a good couple of months to have a fill but was pasted on to speak to the dietician. So when the doc said about -2mls being missing I knew something was,t right. I now have 10mls in my band I can only eat roughly 4 spoonfuls of food which is a big improvement to eating a whole big bowl of say stir fry. I am making funny gurgling noises when I eat and drink but at least I now have good restriction.

down in the dumps

well I have been down in the dumps now for well over a month my problem is I am always hungry and no restriction I have been trying to get a fill for ages now my last fill was in June, I have 9cc in my band. I am going back to see the health team tomorrow to get weighted so I am hoping they might fill it then for me. I am taking a bowl with me which I eat my stir fry and pasta from and I have also took a photo to show them how much I can eat the bowl is full to the brim. I think my mood is low as nxt month see my 1st year post op on the 24th Nov I found a price list for band fills etc which don,t come cheap? The first year is all a fixed price you see.

I got a letter the other day to say Spire Murrayfield hospital in Edinburgh is starting a support group up for patients who have had weight-loss surgery. This is happening in mid of Sept, I can,t wait to chat with other people to see how they are getting on. I am now over my 8 stone my 1st anniversary of me being banded is coming up on 24th Nov I just wished that I was banded years ago.

holiday hell

I have just came back from 1 week away in a caravan with my hubby and candy @floss my 2 cavalier king charles spaniels whilist being away was great, the weather was fab, the site was 10 miles frm county durham. We done loads of walking, it was the 1st time I have been away since being banded I found it very difficult as I constantly felt hungry. It didn,t help with going to the seaside resorts and watching people q all the way outside all the fish and chips shops on hot days to stuff there faces. I didn,t go of the rail once although the temptation was there. The only thing that kept me going was the fact I have to face the dietician and the staff nurse on this monday to get weighted:ohmy:
