grr

ugh..ive been at such a stand still...and it is totally my fault..its gotten so cold i havent walked and i havent gone to the gym. im stuck at 216 right now. i have a drs appt on monday afternoon..last month i was 220..so my dr will be proud to see ive gone down a lil..but i think i was just bloated and stuff that day i saw her bc within a day or 2 i was back at 216 and have been there ever since. NOT GOOD!! i have to kick myself starting tomorrow..i need to do something..i feel like im getting lazier and lazier..this is wat happens to me in the winter. monday night i think im going to attempt to go swim at the gym..if not then def..no matter what..walk at night. i have to take control right now!! grr..so fustrated!!

the heat..

hmm..i dunno if its the nice summer heat but i didnt feel like eating much today. can it please stay this hot year round? lol. all i want is watermelon..my all time fav..but unfortunetly that watermelon has a hard time stayin down now that im banded..as with most fruits. grr..and theyre my absolute fav!! :ohmy: today was pretty good. i stuck with my restart and did my 45 min power walk this evening. i didnt want to go at all, and i pushed myself sayin just do 25 mins at least a lil ways up the street, but once i got there i was like lets just do the rest..and i did. woohoo!:wink2: tomorrow night i dont think i'll get a chance to walk due to an event with work all evening..but i will be at the pool in the early afternoon goin to make sure i do lots of laps. i think i may even stick to the pre surgery diet and just have some protein shakes tomorrow. that sounds like a good idea!:cool2:

another day another rant

i've been afraid to weigh myself bc i havent walked since wednesday. ughh i just feel awful..that walking really helps..i can feel the diff. ive been feeling great physically and emotionally..just an all around better mood when i walk regularly..and now i feel miserable. so tomorrows my brand new start. im going to restart my walking and making a goal to lose 7-10lbs by this time next month (my next doc appt.) i def think i need a fill..but i want to take this month to make sure its just not me being lazy.

a little update..

wow, havent updated in over a yr. so last time i blogged i think i was switching dr.s. well i love love love my new doc and am thrilled to be away from the crazy lady i had to deal with when i was with the other dr. These new people are in lake success and theyre awesome. i've been doin VERY well since moving over there to them. ive hit the 60lbs down mark..which im still in shock over!! lol. ive been struggling a lil this summer tho, havent been as strict and i think i need another fill..just a lil one..i havent gained ANYTHING..but havent lost too much either..but i feel thats better than the scale movin up. i havent really been working out like normal either..heats kicks my ass this time of year. but this past week and half of last i've stepped up and have walked every night. in fact i was proud bc i walked yesterday afternoon for a half hour and then in the evening for 45 mins. feel very accomplished over that. today i did some swimming and leg workouts in the pool and im off for my 45 min power walk right after this post. i have a dr appt tomorrow..im nervous bc i havent lost much..but hope they wont be too hard on me since i havent gained either. fingers crossed!! lol. k, off for my workout..ttyl:tongue2:

second fill

ok, so i wanted to post about my second fill. i had 1.2 ccs put in during the first and a month later for the second there was only .6ccs in there. i was told this is normal during th 1st. so anyways, the second fill i got 1.6 put in. things seemed ok the first few days, but after that, i pb EVERY day. it was horrible. really bad pain. i guess it was me just still training myself with smaller bites and more thorough chewing. but i think i got the hang of it now and am making another appointment for a third fill. went to the dr. today and said everything seems great and wrote me a script for it, so i guess i'll be making the appointment tomorrow for the beginning of june. i wana hit that sweet spot so bad. oh and today was the second day on weight watchers, i really stuck to my points today and even fit in my hour power walk. feeling great and so proud of myself today. yay :thumbdown:

been a long time..switchin dr.s

wow, i havent written in my blog in such a long time. so much as happened, gonna take a few posts to catch up. alright i'll start where i left off... 1st fill experience.. well 6 weeks after surgery i went and got my 1st fill. it was quite amazing. she only put in 1.2 ccs, i have a 5cc band. i was told the 1st fil was covered thru insurance, well the 1st 90 days. (this lady doesnt take insurance, we (my mom) have to pay out of pocket and then submit it to insurance..such a hassle) so anyways come to find out after i get the fill..that that isnt covered, somethin else is, i forgot what. so i had to pay out of pocket for this..like $200. my mom was livid, and we decided we couldnt afford to keep doing this. before i got the fill i had to go to a radiology place for the esophogram, i found out there that they do fills as well...somethin to keep in mind. so we were goin to stop going to this lady and find someone else. my mom called a bunch of dr.s but no one will touch me because they didnt put the band in, a little odd to me. so i felt it was time for another fill a month later, cuz i didnt have any results. so i made an appointment with that radiology place and that went perfect, they took insurance and i didnt even have a co-pay..mine is usually $20. so that was awesome. we called my family dr. and told him the situation, he said he would look over me and write the scripts for the fills. i feel this is better, but at the same time, this lady i was seeing concentrates mainly on the band and knos her stuff. so i feel a little weary about not seeing any specialist, but i just couldnt afford it if i continued with her..plus i didnt like her and she never remembered me, i always had to get her up to speed on where we left off. that was a little uncomfortable as well. but yea, so thats my story about switching dr.s. i'll post some more on other things later. ta ta for now.

down to the wire..

ok. yay so im sooo excited. yesterday was my pre op appt where i met the surgeon and did the rest of my tests. so im all good to go. im on optifast for the rest of the week. its day 1 today and its not too bad, i feel im can do it, hey i been doing it, but everyone around me thinks i cant. great encouragement guys!! i mean come on!! i wish i had some more support around me physically. oh well i can do it no matter what. so yea, my surgery is next thursday the 13th at 10am..sooo happy. its gonna be such a long week.lol the time is not going to wana pass bc im so excited. well gotta go have another optifast. yay. lol:thumbup:

finally got my date!!!

havent been on in awhile. but got some news. i was approved for surgery. i go for my pre op visit with the surgeon on march 6th and start my optifast diet then. and then exactly one week later is my surgery date on the 13th. im sooooo excited. i have a few things still to do. like tomorrow i have to meet with the lap band doctor to just talk to her a lil bc wont see her again til day of surgery and then i have to make an appointment with my regular dr to get medical clearence. im just soooo excited and anxious. march 13th cant come soon enough. lol

final appointment tomorrow. yay

im so excited for tomorrow. i have my 4th and final appointment at 1pm. and i think we sit down and set the date. im so scattered not knowing a date, its gonna be awesome knowing one now. i have something to countdown to and its tangible. my friends are asking, "so whens this surgery happening?" and i can never give them a date. so its going to be so nice to actually have one to tell my friends now. im gona be very disappointed if we dont set one tomorrow. dr said the end of february. so i have to get one set up, right? oh well. stoppin the stressing. we'll see how things go tomorrow. i'll write after the appointment.

another good night.

well yay, did good again tonight. nothing to eat after 6..lots of water and i walked for 30 mins. feels good. night time is the worst for me. all i wanna do is catch up on tv and snack, so this is a big accomplishment for me.

finally back to walking.

feelin good tonight. didnt have anything to eat after 7pm. just drank water for the rest of the night instead of diet coke. (im a total DC addict) and i also walked for 40 mins tonight in the cold (heard u burn more) and with the wind against me most of the way. i feel great after i walk. havent walked in awhile so i want to keep this up and get back on track. plan on walking tomorrow night, wednesday and saturday night. ease into 3 nights a week and then jump to 5. keep thinking about the surgery. im so excited and cant wait. one more week and then i hopefully set a date. im going to be so disappointed if i dont set a date next week. my Dr. isnt exactly the most reliable. she never even remembers me and i've almost done the required things twice. i got to remind her. i really dont care for her, but heyy..she aint my surgeon so i can deal. alright off to bed, need some beauty rest.

jenna's journey

Well guess i should introduce myself. Im Jenn from long island, ny. i'm 23 and overwight. I've just recently decided on going through with weightloss surgery. after a lot of research i've decided to go with the lapband surgery. And i wanted to document my journey along the way. I've been overweight most of my life. Had a shotty childhood involving my dad and was mostly raised by my grandparents who gave me everything to eat. whatever i wanted and being a normal kid, i wanted junk. And then in middle school i got into some drugs with friends. i grew up in FL, so it was all around even at such a young age. Everyone was doing it, and there was nothing else to do in our little town. so thats where i ended up in middle school and the 1st 2 yrs of high school. Then my sophmore yr, my parents divorced, thank god..i couldnt stand my dad..and my mom ended up getting back together with her childhood sweetheart from where she was born, in NY. so summer of sophmore yr i was yanked out of FL and away from friends and drugs and pulled into NY. Looking back, it was very jolting. i went from having friends and going out everynight to having no friends all summer and then i got sick over summer. i lost my eyesight. turned out to be optic nueritis and they still dont fully know more. They say its MS, then its not, then its an isolated incident. i have a 4% chance of developing MS when im old. who knows, all i know is i got my eyesight back in 2 weeks, better than ever. i think it was stress!! but thats me. So when school started here, i knew nobody, and not to mention, i now lived in massapequa, which happens to be an all white area. so there was not 1 other race but white in this school. and the school has over 1500 kids. and they're all clicky. so my 1st yr there, u can count friends out. it was very lonely. but i started working at modells sporting goods and made friends there and was able to go hang out with people. my senior yr things were also better. i had a lot of friends, i lost a bit of weight too. i've always been around 250, im pretty tall tho too. im 5'7. so senior yr before graduation i lost about 20-25 lbs. but over that summer i was in a toxic friend relationship that left me lost for the next yr and a half, until he moved and i gained the weight back. i started a new job after he left and found some good people. i was happy again and then lost some more weight, i was down from 250 to about 200 at my lowest. but then i started another job yet again, and was put in a office environment with skinny girls who ate a lot and ordered out everyday, instead of out on the sales floor moving around. So the weight slowly crept back and higher than ever. now im at 260. and i just hate it right now. So lets close this, i just started the requirements for lap band in November, have to do 4 months with my Dr. so i have the last visit with Dr. Ferrara on the 4th of february. and that visit im hoping she will set my surgery date. she originally told me the end of february, which is around my bday, so i got to celebrate that early so i can eat lol. but in the meantime before then, i want to lose about 5 lbs before my appointment on the 4th. i have a little over a week. So i think im going to get into weight watchers again and walk a few nights a week. i want to drop about 15 before surgery which is doable, so i guess i'll be pouring myself into this blog while i do it!! wow

havent really lost anything..but thank goodness havent gained anything back either. at a stand still again. my fault. ive been so busy with work that my work outs have really suffered and havent even glanced at weight watchers to write down my stuff i eat. but i walked tonight..that felt good. i have an appt for dr on the 22nd. so i want to lose at least 5 lbs by then. im back on track today..tomorrow for sure!!

been on track

so happy because i feel back on track lately. last month i was 220 and struggling..now im down between 211 and 212 and havent scen that 220 ever since. i hated that number..so im very excited its finally gone and for good. so i have my dr appt friday..feelin confident that its going to be a good visit..i was stuck for so long that my dr is going to be thrilled!! well today was pretty good. had a good breakfast: protein shake snack:chicken broth lunch:weight watchers smartone. dinner:grilled cheese. i fell asleep after work (im up at 4am), i hate that because then i feel i dont wana do anything else for the rest of the evening and it keeps me up later than i should be at night. but i moved my ass tonight and went out and walked and got my exercise in..and i didnt half ass it..walked for 50 mins..so all in all im very happy with the day:smile2:

im baaack..

ok, wow, its been almost a yr since i've really been on here. so this is where im at now... current weight is 215 (this morning) i've been on weight watchers for about 2 weeks now, and 2 weeks ago i was at 220. so 5 lbs in 2 weeks is a start. i really only do weight watchers bc i find writing everything down with the points system works for me. i didnt join or anything, i just went a got the 3 month log and food companion and kind of do my own thing with my band..just really only follow the logging of points. seeing what im doing is keeping me on track and helping me meet my daily requirements. So anyways, yea thats been working. I also try and do some laps in the pool a few times a week when i go. my community pool is up to $7 to get in, so i can only afford to go once or twice a week. and the pool at my gym was giving me ear infections..so i pretty much have to deal with the $7 fee. oh well. and i've been walking about 4-6 times a week. Monday and tonight i walked extra long. i usually only do about 40 mins (power walking) but those two nights i did 65 mins power walking. and wow do i feel it!!but im proud..bc i usually have to push myself to go..it gets old after awhile and i start to resist it a lil. but im stickin to it this time. Well im hoping to lose about half a pound a day, about 3lbs a week is the plan. If i work hard and achieve this i could be at my 1st goal by halloween..thats putting me at 200..well i wanna be at 199..its a big deal to get under 200 for me..i cant remember the last time i was there. my 2nd goal will be for 172..which marks my 100lb spot. hoping to be there by christmas..and then be at my ultimate goal of 150lbs by my birthday in February. Ah it feels so good to dream..i really want to achieve this and im going to do everything i can to get there!! This is it..i had my moment of "its going to happen!" Another lil goal is to keep myslef on track by spending more time on this site and trying to be loyal to writing in this blog..i find i do better with an outlet. So ok, this is where im at now. The yr since the last time ive been on here was kind of a blur. It was pointless and wasteful. but im baaaaaack!!

bored

what a wasteful day. i didnt do a damn thing but catch up on my dvr shows. ughh i planned on goin to the pool and everything..it was sooooo gorgeous out..but nope..i just felt tired and lazy. so yea..i wasted today..sometimes i think its better to be at work..having off for 2 and a half days in a row throw me off completely. Happy kinda that its back to reality tomorrow morning. but i am on my way out for a walk in a few minutes. i plan on walking tonite over a hour again to make up for my laziness today. plans for this week are to walk sunday, monday, wednesday, thursday, friday and swimming and walking on saturday. Have to make my goal this week.:closedeyes:

awesome day

:w00t:i feel i did awesome today!! breakfast was sliced deli turkey roll up 2oz lunch was a weight watchers meal. snack was some soup dinner was a lil bit of pot roast and veggies. and i walked 45mins tonight. there was no crappy snacking today!! feeling great..woohoo!!
